Currently there are eleven interest groups that meet September through May (and some in the summer). There are also a STEM Task Force and a Traveling Library. Art, Drawing, and Fabric Arts – NOT CURRENTLY MEETING Most Friday mornings, 10 a.m.- 12:00 noon. We meet at Monte Vista Christian Church. We do individual art projects, and enjoy the fellowship of others interested in art. We generally go out to lunch together after working. There are occasional field trips. International Relations – NOT CURRENTLY MEETING Great Decisions is a national, grassroots foreign policy discussion program of the Foreign Policy Association. The program book, Great Decisions 2022 Edition provides background information and policy options for eight most critical issues facing America. We have stimulating discussions with well-informed members on Great Decisions topics. Members select one of the topics found in the Great Decisions program book. Chair: VACANT

STEM Task Force – third Thursday 11:30 to 1:30 at Lescombe’s Winery, 901 Rio Grande Blvd. NW Next meeting October 21st. If you’d like to join us, send us an e–mail at email@example.com The Branch STEM Task Force has or will “table,” present programs, plan or coordinate for various events, and represent AAUW at STEM networking events with other organizations in the Albuquerque area. Typically we participate in The Boys and Girls Club “Discovery Festival” in October, a Branch program in October, Tech Trek Reunions, essay reading for Tech Trek in March, the STEM Symposium [sponsored by Dept. of Ed.] early June, and possible other events to be announced. Antiques and Collectibles – NOT CURRENTLY MEETING 1st Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m. In September we plan our programs for the entire year. At each meeting, a member or a guest speaker presents information about an antique or a collectible followed by a “Show and Tell” by the attendees. We meet in member’s homes. Sometimes we go on a field trip. Location of meetings can be found in the newsletter. Feel free to contact either the chair or the hostess to join us for a meeting that catches your eye. Traveling Library – Current Literature sponsors the Traveling Library, started in 1926, through which current fiction and non-fiction is circulated and costs participating $20.
